John Quiñones

John Quiñones is an ABC News correspondent who reports across “20/20,” “Nightline” and “Good Morning America.” During his 40-year tenure at ABC News, he has reported extensively for all programs and platforms and served as anchor of “What Would You Do?” and “Primetime.”

Before joining ABC News in 1982, Quiñones had a successful career with WBBM-TV in Chicago and KTRH radio in Houston. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications from St. Mary’s University and a master’s from the Columbia School of Journalism.

Throughout his career, Quiñones received numerous accolades, including seven national Emmy Awards for his work on programs like “Primetime Live” and “20/20.” His journalistic contributions have been recognized with honors such as the George Foster Peabody Award and the Gabriel Award.

In 2022, Quiñones received the Lifetime Achievement Award from MALDEF, a testament to his enduring impact on Latino civil rights. Other prestigious recognitions include the Carr Van Anda Award, the “Inspire: Visionary Leadership Award,” and the RTDNA’s John F. Hogan Award for national and international reporting.
